Business locks and roller shutters: an enquiry checklist
Prepare an office, shop or roller shutter lock enquiry with the right information, authorisation and quote requirements.
Call to confirm availability and an arrival estimate. Parts and labour are quoted before work starts.
Start with the premises and authority
Identify the affected entrance, lock or shutter and whether the premises can currently be secured. Confirm who can authorise the work, particularly for leased premises or shared buildings. Tell Mark the postcode and any appointment restrictions when you enquire.
Collect useful details safely
Describe the symptom and send a photograph of accessible hardware or a visible model label. For shutters, explain whether the issue is the lock or the shutter movement. Do not operate or dismantle a faulty shutter to take a photograph. A motor, electrical or structural fault may require another specialist.
Access and key control
Consider who holds keys and what happens when staff or contractors leave. Discuss replacement hardware and any need for specialist key arrangements. Changes to shared access or emergency exits require appropriate authorisation and competent assessment; do not substitute a general lock quote for a full premises safety assessment.
Agree the job and records
Ask for the scope, parts, labour and any out-of-hours charge before work starts. Confirm what invoice and job information you need for your records. Mark takes roller shutter lock enquiries; availability and hardware compatibility must be checked for the actual premises.
Your next step
For an urgent lockout or an unsecured door, call Mark. For a planned repair, send your postcode, the symptoms and a photograph on WhatsApp. Do not include images of keys or access codes.
