The lock, the mechanism or the alignment?

These are different parts of the repair. A key problem may involve the cylinder; a handle problem may involve the hardware or mechanism; a door that catches on the frame may need alignment work. An assessment establishes the cause.

Don’t force a stiff handle or key. Tell me whether the door is open, locked shut or unable to lock. If safely accessible, send a photo of the handle and the metal strip along the door edge.

A fault doesn’t automatically mean you need a whole new door. I’ll explain the options and quote for the required work.
